Capitaine Nat' is a brand created in the early 1990s, based in the south of France and not in Brittany! Specializing in preserved wild fish made with FR-BIO-10 certified organic ingredients and a whole Natural range, sardines, anchovies, mackerel, tuna, salmon. NO ILLEGAL FISHING All our fisheries are FRIEND OF THE SEA certified. They are traced using Capture certificates. Captain Nat', it's a different cooking method, it's steam cooking, more digestible + light + healthy. Steam cooking keeps all the flavors, the fish are less fatty and therefore more digestible than with the so-called "old-fashioned" method which consists of frying them in an oil bath.
It all began in 1956, the grandparents of the current manager opened one of the first stores selling natural and diet products in the Parisian suburbs (Antony).
At the beginning of the 1970s, the parents of the current manager having taken over the Antony store, decided to open two other stores selling natural and organic products in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Shortly after, they created a distribution company for organic products for specialized stores and founded the brand "LE BRIN D'HERBE". With more than 20 years of experience and strong consumer demand, they then undertook in collaboration with an artisanal Provençal cannery to manufacture and market in the "ORGANIC" circuit under the brand "CAPTAIN NAT" .
A large range of preserved wild fish in which they wanted to introduce as many “ingredients from organic farming” as possible, as this corporation necessarily requires. Apart from seafood, that is to say: wild fish which are caught at the most favorable period on the high seas, also guaranteeing them the highest nutritional value as well as sea salt which cannot claim such guarantees in the current state of the legislation.
